"THEY STARTED IT"
a storybook about a high school shooting...and it just makes you think about
Virginia tech. like her books, there is always something unexpected at the end (but i already expected it!).
if you were in this actual situation (as sch shootings usually happen in the us), and was one of the victims, those three words, "they started it" said by the shooter would be three unforgettable chilling words to hit you.
i teared.
not because of the ending but whenever there were flashbacks of what the shooter went through ...all those years of being bullied and when his childhood sweetheart/
bestfriend changed and ignored him in high school cause he was a loser. (she just writes damn good to make me feel this way)
even though it is fictional, you cant help but think whether in real life, did the school shooters go through these problems in school everyday too?
like how she said it in her book,
in nineteen minutes you can...
dye your hair
bake cookies
fold the clothes for your whole family
read a storybook to a child
sew a hem
in nineteen minutes, you can bring the world to a screeching halt as you seek revenge.
in nineteen minutes, you can loose someone you love.
